March of the Robots

March 4, 2017
I didn't participate in many art shows last year, I was exploring different possibilities and focused on large expressionistic paintings.
I like to paint and new ideas are endless. I took few workshops, gave few, painted a lot of landscapes outdoors and made hundreds of tiny robots and mini dinosaurs/monsters. I was also working on two sketchbooks.  One exploring the Dark Side - with quotes, clippings from magazines, drawings of fictional, movie characters -  Jocker, Darth Vader, Dirty Harry, Agent Carter, Terminator and many more. There are some comical twists by combining them together and playing with their images and words. Thank you Barb for such a wonderful idea! Second sketchbook is about small drawings - no theme, all kind of doodles and sketches.
Time after work and between creative moments is dedicated to the gym! Swimming, Yoga, Weights, Hiking, Walking, Biking, Boxing.... it is like art - the more I do the more I like it.
If I only could sleep less than 6 hours.... March of Robots - many artists draw, create and produce bellowed robots - it is a tradition for me to. October is an Inktober Month ( thanks to Jake Parker) and March is March of the Robots!

Kind Winter

February 2, 2016
We have warm and kind winter this year, great weather for long walks in the forests and along the shores of the Lake Ontario.
Not many exhibitions so far - last one was in Superwonder Gallery - Scapes. It was fun! Over 80 artists, great variety of art and high energy art opening night- i loved it!
Due to some restrictions from representing me gallery i was able to present only two of my smaller paintings, so i framed them beautifully in the conservative gold frames. Like never!!!! My paintings ...

Seasons, Birds and Hope

June 8, 2015
I was not updating this blog as i had some thoughts on migrating my blog and yes it can happen, but in the meantime ... I was illustrating a lot of poems lately or working on my sketch/art journal pages. It is a different kind of creativity... Emily Dickinson is my all time favourite poet. Her poetry and imagery is very dear. One of the poems " Hope is a thing with feathers that perches in the soul" was a motto for last few months. I was inspired or preoccupied with birds - it started shortly...

Beautiful Flowers of Art

March 18, 2015
Finally Flowers, Blue Skies and warm long days! I was visiting Niagara and Rochester, taking pictures of lilacs, magnolias and tulips. It was such a wonderful break. I especially liked Artisan Works in Rochester. More than a gallery, place with the deep artistic spirit, fun, inspiring and fresh! I went through little renovation at home, i didn't paint much, but made many pages of my art journal.

Spring, where are you?

March 5, 2015

The weather is as wintery as it was in January, but the Sunshine is wonderful - days much longer and warmth and intensity of rays are bringing hope. I cannot walk - it is too cold, I suffer to be indoors all the time. I miss fresh air. Last week i tossed to garbage bin my old hiking/winter shoes eaten by salt and destroyed by the intensive use and purchased brand new that will serve for next two or three years. I have now Salomon Synapse. Warm, light, waterproof and cool looking. Those are ...

Hot Art, Cold Winter, Wine

February 20, 2015
The temperatures are still in the low minus 20 C. At least sunshine makes things more beautiful, but not inviting enough to paint outdoors! The hot art in blazing energetic colours and warm organic lively forms is filling my studio! The colder outside the more saturated and psychedelic colours on my paintings. I am also working on a series of small collages and place them in the sketchbook. The inspiration comes from the poetry of Sara Teasdale, Emily Dickinson, Christina Rossetti and many...

Creative Winter Saturdays

February 9, 2015

Saturdays, after the errands, shopping, cooking and spending exclusive time with my sweetheart I am painting. Sometimes i invite my artist friends for the company. I turned dining room and bedroom into the painting studios.
Bedroom is for small paintings - easy to set up and clean after. Most of my little projects and everyday paintings are done there. Dining table is for large watercolours and liquid acrylics, I paint wet on wet - means - it can be messy,

I will keep this setup until ...

Snow and Oil Pastels

February 4, 2015

We have lots of snow in Toronto. I still paint everyday or almost every day, Started to scan pictures, but my scanner is not working well and the results are not perfect, pictures taken by the camera are distorted colours are not close to what I painted. I miss spring, summer and fall colours - winter landscapes are not inspiring!!!. Sure I painted a few, but it is grey or sepia or umber  – sad and boring…. Colours are absent without the sunshine! Sure I can use some imagination….

New Phone, New Paintings, New Pochade Box

January 14, 2015

Yeah i painted quite few new paintings and some i can even show to the world, but i am learning how to photograph and scan them properly. Should i make an inventory or just snapshots. In the past i had quite elaborate system, but i painted less and i was more organized and enthusiastic administrator. Now i am mostly an artist. I would like to start new year making it right. At least i learned to scan all my receipts, so the originals can go to the box, I do not have to sort them anymore. It w...
